ADAAY wins the Toronado Carnoarvon Stakes

Bred in Ireland out of the Royal Applause mare Lady Lucia, ADAAY showed precocious talent when purchased at the 2014 Craven breeze-up sale by Shadwell Estate Company Ltd for 240,000 gns. Under the expert training of William Haggas,  ADAAY was a ready debut winner of a competitive Newbury maiden (where Kodi Bear followed him home) less than a month later. He went on to make a winning return at Yarmouth defeating the subsequent Norfolk Stakes runner up Mind of Madness.

ADAAY got off the mark as a 3yo with an impressive victory in the 6f Listed Carnarvon Stakes at Newbury. Following this came arguably his most impressive display with a decisive win in the 6f Gr.2 Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock in which he ended the 5 race unbeaten sequence of the brilliant sprinter Limato. He then went on to show his versatility by stepping up to seven furlongs for the Gr.2 Hungerford Stakes in which he had talented horses including Breton Rock and Cable Bay in behind him.

Ed Harper, Director of Whitsbury Manor Stud commented: “We are very grateful to be given the opportunity to stand ADAAY in partnership with Shadwell Stud. His two Gr.2 wins in the Sandy Lane and Hungerford Stakes single him out as a horse of the highest calibre and he remains one of only three to have defeated Limato over a sprint distance, alongside Mecca’s Angel and MUHAARAR. He is a gorgeous dark bay individual typical of his sire Kodiac and will offer our clients an extremely commercial option for next season.”

ADAAY will stand at Whitsbury Manor Stud at a fee to be announced at a later date.  All enquiries to
