MUHAARAR: son of Oasis Dream was Champion Sprinter in 2015

MUHAARAR, the champion sprinter of 2015, will stand his third season at an unchanged fee of £30,000 (1st January SLF) in 2018.

MUHAARAR is joined on the Shadwell roster at the Nunnery Stud by fellow Group 1 winners MUKHADRAM and NAYEF, who will also command unchanged fees of £7,000 (1st January SLF) and £5,000 (1st January SLF) respectively.

The first foals by four-time Group 1-winning sprinter MUHAARAR arrived this year and they have not disappointed. The sire’s first foal to come under the hammer – a filly who was offered with her dam BALDOVINA – fetched £300,000 at the Goffs London Sale in June.

MUHAARAR will be represented by three foals at the Goffs November Foal Sale this month and a further 13 at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale.

Richard Lancaster, Shadwell Stud Director said: “It was always the plan for MUHAARAR to stand his first three seasons at a fee of £30,000 in order to give breeders equal opportunity. That has always been Shadwell’s policy.

“I still believe £30,000 represents outstanding value. Not only does he have the looks to match his exemplary race record, he’s now producing exceptional foals. I have seen numerous foals this year and they are good-bodied, strong foals, but the common trait among all of them is balance and athleticism.

“On the back of those first foals and his competitive fee, there have already been plenty of applications for next year and we envisage him being full in the next couple of weeks.”

MUKHADRAM’S first yearlings have been well received this year, selling for up to £200,000 with a further seven making sums in excess of £50,000, while NAYEF continues to prove himself a consistent source of top-class performers, headed by this year’s Group 1 Prix Royal-Oak scorer ICE BREEZE.

“The first yearlings by MUKHADRAM have sold well and I’ve been particularly pleased with who has been buying them at the sales,” said Lancaster. “His stock will be given every chance to succeed and we look forward to his first two-year-olds making their debuts next year.

“NAYEF continues to be a model of consistency. If you want to breed a winner, look no further. His offspring are operating at a winners-to-runners ratio of more than 50 per cent and he seems to throw up a Group horse each year, which is a phenomenal feat.”

MUHAARAR and MUKHADRAM will be parading at Beech House Stud during the Tattersalls December Sales for five days beginning Saturday, December 2.
