Mustaaqeem crowned champion 2 year old

MUSTAAQEEM; son of Redoute's Choice crowned champion juvenile in South Africa

MUSTAAQEEM, who landed the Grade 1 South African Nursery in HH Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum's colours for De Kock, was crowned Champion 2 year old colt at the Equus Awards in South Africa last night.

Bred by Arrowfield Stud in partnership with Klawervlei Stud, MUSTAAQEEM is out of three-time Grade 1 winner and star producer NATIONAL COLOUR and by leading Australian sire Redoute's Choice, making him a full brother to South African champion older horse and sprinter RAFEEF. 

It was not only MUSTAAQEEM'S achievements that were honoured last night, his trainer Mike de Kock was given a special achievement award for reaching a milestone 3,000 winners during the 2016/17 season.
