Mohaather fee set at £20,000 for 2021 breeding season

Mohaather won a top-class renewal of the Group 1 Sussex Stakes this year, beating Group 1 performers Circus Maximus, Kameko and Siskin in a time three seconds faster than Kingman posted in 2014

Brilliant miler MOHAATHER will stand his first season at Nunnery Stud in Norfolk at a fee of £20,000 (1st January SLF) in 2021.

The striking dark bay colt was a Group winner at two, three and four, and distinguished himself as one of the best racehorses of his generation when beating Group 1 talents CIRCUS MAXIMUS, SISKIN and KAMEKO to land the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood in impressive fashion.

The son of SHOWCASING also hails from one of the most active families in the studbook, being a full-brother to dual US Grade 2 winner PRIZE EXHIBIT, whose filly by GALILEO sold for 2,800,000gns at Book 1 of this year’s Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, and a half-brother to the dam of Queen Anne Stakes hero ACCIDENTAL AGENT.

MOHAATHER joins MUHAARAR, EQTIDAAR and TASLEET on the Shadwell stallion roster at Nunnery Stud.

Champion sprinter MUHAARAR, whose first two crops have yielded more than 50 winners including Group 3 scorer PAIX as well as high-class juveniles MUJBAR and BARADAR, will stand at £10,000 (1st January SLF) in 2021.

EQTIDAAR, a Commonwealth Cup winner by influential sire of sires INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, has been assigned a fee of £5,000 (1st January SLF) in 2021. His first foals are set to hit the ground next year.

TASLEET, the multiple Group 1-placed son of SHOWCASING from the immediate family of the blisteringly fast BATTAASH, will stand at a fee of £5,000 (1st January SLF) in 2021. His first foals have been well received this year, making up to 60,000gns and averaging nearly 20,000gns at Tattersalls last week.

Shadwell Stud Director Richard Lancaster said: “We are keen to support breeders through these challenging times for the bloodstock industry caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, and we believe that MOHAATHER’s introductory fee of £20,000 represents excellent value.

“He’s a striking dark bay, with plenty of quality who is incredibly light on his feet. However, what really impresses me is how well he walks. He’s a superb mover, who covers an incredible amount of ground. If he can pass that walk on to his stock, breeders will be sitting pretty.

“We have also trimmed the prices for MUHAARAR, EQTIDAAR and TASLEET in light of the present economic situation. MUHAARAR has supplied several exciting winners, while EQTIDAAR proved popular in his first season at stud and TASLEET’s foals have sold very well which is most encouraging.”

Mohaather, along with the other Shadwell stallions, is available to view at the Nunnery Stud.
