Quickfire double of debut winners for Muhaarar

Fillies Concessions and Albaflora strike for the second-season sire
Concessions: debut success marked her down as a name to note

Second-season sire MUHAARAR supplied two new promising debut winners within minutes of each other on June 9 – one from his first crop and the other from his second.

First, the two-year-old filly CONCESSIONS scored a comfortable length and a half success in the Pye’s Green Maiden Fillies’ Stakes over 7f at Chelmsford.

She is trained by Richard Hannon for His Highness Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, having been bought by Oliver St Lawrence for 125,000gns from Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.

CONCESSIONS was bred by the Front House Syndicate and Wilgerbosdrift out of FRONT HOUSE, a daughter of SADLER’S WELLS who was a dual Group 2 winner in South Africa and Dubai.

Minutes later MUHAARAR’S three-year-old daughter ALBAFLORA registered a one and a quarter-length victory in the Betway Maiden Stakes over 1m2f at Haydock on her first start.

ALBAFLORA is trained by Ralph Beckett for her owner and breeder Kirsten Rausing. She is out of the placed GALILEO mare ALMIRANTA, making her a half-sister to Group winners ALEA IACTA and ALYSSA.

This is Miss Rausing’s outstanding ‘A’ family of Group 1 winners and champions ALBORADA and ALBANOVA.

CONCESSIONS and ALBAFLORA join a long list of promising winners for MUHAARAR, the champion sprinter who stands at Nunnery Stud.

Others include CLEANTE, FIJI and SHATHA.
