TASLEET foals continue to catch the eye

First offspring by the Group 1 sprinter impressing breeders

First foals by Shadwell’s exciting young sire TASLEET continue to please breeders up and down the country.

Several have been born in recent weeks, headed by a stunning colt bred by Mr and Mrs Wayne Clifford out of FOREVER EXCEL (EXCELEBRATION) who arrived in March.

The colt was born at Byerley Stud in Wiltshire, from where the operation’s director and stud manager, Ian Bradbury, said: “He’s a very good colt – exactly what we wanted from the mating.

“He’s powerful with great substance and reminds me very much of his sire.”

Chris Budgett recently welcomed the addition of a TASLEET filly from the winning MEDICEAN mare BLUE OYSTER at his Kirtlington Stud in Oxfordshire.

“She’s a cracking filly and everything I hoped for when we chose the mating,” he said. “She has an attractive head and a kind eye with a physical presence to match.”

A son of leading British-based sire SHOWCASING, TASLEET was a model of consistency on the racecourse for William Haggas, winning stakes races at two, three and four as well as finishing second in three Group 1 sprints.

He covered more than 100 mares during his first season at the Nunnery Stud and there are still nominations available for 2020.
