Tasleet makes it to ten winners with exciting Newbury scorer

Nunnery Stud sire operating at a very good strike-rate
Tasleet: source of Coventry Stakes hero Bradsell

Nunnery Stud’s exciting first-season sire Tasleet reached the landmark of ten winners on Friday, when son Skysail built on the promise of his debut second to win a highly competitive six-furlong Newbury maiden in decisive fashion.

Skysail was sent out by Marcus Tregoning for the Whitsbury I syndicate, having been bought by the trainer for 16,000gns from Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. He holds an entry in the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes next month.

Bred by Crimbourne Stud, Skysail is the first winner from three runners out of Lady Marl, a winning daughter of Duke Of Marmalade from the family of Cadeaux Genereux.

Tasleet has notched ten winners from only 33 runners, a much lower pool than many of his freshman rivals, for an admirable strike-rate of 30 per cent. The son of Showcasing’s other progeny include Coventry Stakes hero Bradsell and exciting maiden scorer Mustajaab, who is set to contest the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
