Mostahdaf’s First Foals Shine Bright!
"The highest priced foal, fetched a superb six-figures, knocked down to Shadwell Stud for 100,000gns following a friendly ring-side rally."
Mostahdaf has been supported by many of leading breeders in his first two seasons at stud and the results of this are now becoming clear to see. As his first foals made their way onto the sales scene their quality certainly shone through.
The highest priced foal, Lot 742 fetched a superb six-figures, knocked down to Shadwell Stud for 100,000gns following a friendly ring-side rally. A 1st March born filly out of black-type producer Maid For Winning, consigned by Northmore Stud, she is a half-sister to 8 winners of which 3 are black-type performers including Group 3 winner YOURTIMEISNOW. This filly joins four homebred foals by the sire, the most notable being a colt out of Alaflaak, the half-sister to Aghareed, dam of six time Grp1 winning champion Baaeed.

Lot 659, the high-quality 16th February born colt was snapped up by Larry Stratton and Church View Stables for 77,000gns, consigned by Voute Sales. He is out of the Ballyogan Stakes (Grp3) and Flying Fillies Stakes (L) winner Divine, by Dark Angel.
A colt, Lot 887 out of African Beat whose dam line tracks back to blue blooded Allez Les Trois, went the way of Luke Bleahan for 55,000gns, consigned by Norelands Stud.
Other foal prices include 55,000gns, 52,000gns, 52,000gns, 48,000gns and €42,000, bought by respected judges such as Kelly Equine, Tradewinds, Redpender Stud, Redwall Bloodstock to name just a few!
This is no surprise given the outstanding potential he offers from both a pedigree and racing ability viewpoint. Being by Frankel out of Stakes winning Dubawi mare Handassa, he is a half-brother to dual Group 1 winning miler Nazeef and from the family of two Champion Sprinters, Pastoral Pursuits and Goodricke.
Mostahdaf stands for £9,000 (1st January SLF) in 2026 at Shadwell’s Beech House Stud in Newmarket. A price which reflects true value for the breeder, given his hugely respectable credentials as not only a dual Group 1 winner but also retiring on a rating of 128… the highest rated horse to retire to stud in GB over the last three years.
